Archie Purdue
Baritone 2025 – , Manager 2026 –
I am in my second year studying music at Giron College, whilst also singing with and co-managing The Gents. I am originally from Guernsey, a beautiful island with a wonderful musical tradition, where I grew up performing in many choirs and orchestras thanks to the Guernsey Music Centre. I fell in love with choral music in my local parish church choir, the Town Church Choir, and I spent my gap year as a choral scholar in Hereford Cathedral.
Favourite piece of choral music?
It must be Duruflé’s Requiem. It never fails to move me with the timelessness of its Gregorian chant mixed with such warm French harmonic colour.
What do you like to do outside of singing?
I love cooking unnecessarily elaborate meals, running, and playing chamber music on my cello.
