Bass 2024 -
I am a Bass Choral Graduate, also studying for an MPhil in Ethics of AI, Data and Algorithms. I started singing 4 years ago, first joining Emmanuel College Choir, then moving to St John’s in the third year of my Philosophy undergraduate degree.
Most memorable performance with SJCC?
I would say that one of the most memorable performances I have performed in was the All Souls service in my first year in the choir. There was something about our performance of Duruflé’s Requiem that silenced us after the service. I felt that it had properly forced us to acknowledge the solemn gravity of what that service is all about.
What do you listen to beyond choral music?
I’d have to say that Stevie Wonder is my favourite artist outside of choral music. Songs like “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” and “Innervisions” have accompanied me everywhere at every stage of my life.
